Museums and art stores are also sources of pleasure and inspiration..."

"...Doubtless it will seem strange to many that the hand unaided by sight can feel action, sentiment, beauty in the
cold marble; and yet it is true that I derive genuine pleasure from touching great works of art. As my finger tips trace
line and curve, they discover the thought and emotion which the artist has portrayed."
- Helen Keller.

Atlanta Art Museums

Museums are generally seen as the homes for the finest art any city has to offer. Their large sophisticated buildings
offer the public a view of famous works of the past along with works by well known and established artists. While
most museums leave the introduction of new artists and art forms to the galleries, there are some that display the
work of up and coming artists. For the most part, museums serve as an educational reminder to the general public
of the famous artwork of the past.

The following page is meant to serve as a guide to the museum experience that Atlanta, Georgia has to offer.
On this page are descriptions of major and minor art museums offered by the city of Atlanta. There are also links
to the individual Museum websites as well as links to sites that have reviewed the museums listed.
